On Sunday it is the start of the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar. Today we read about Chinese New Year and celebrated by making colourful paper lanterns and scary dragon puppets. We used our scissor skills to cut out the lanterns and the dragons and we learnt how to fold paper like a fan to make the bodies of our dragons. We loved how we could use the sticks to make our dragons weave and wriggle. Don't they look amazing?
Welcome to our blog! We are a class of 20 wonderful Year 2 students at Eastern Hutt School in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. This blog is where we share our amazing learning journey in 2013 as we explore the world around us. We love to hear what you think, so please leave us a comment!

Hi there B4 Explorers,
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to have a look around your classroom last night with your teacher Mrs Harrington and I must say I was really impressed with the artwork you have been creating and have on display, some great work being done and the choice of colours was very impressive. Keep up the great work
Kind regards Harrison's Dad
